As a company with a reputation for excellence, we strive to go above and beyond our clients’ expectations. Because of this, we must continue to be engaged and aware of current and upcoming commercial construction trends. Here are a few insights into the construction industry’s trends as we round out 2021 and move into 2022.
Safety in Construction
While safety and health have always been a focus at Rives, the past year has introduced revolutionary safety practices within businesses. With COVID-19 precautions still in place, utilizing outdoor working environments can provide clients and employees with low-risk factors. Sanitizing frequently on-site and itemizing individual protective equipment, such as hard hats can reduce spread.
Rives is a consistent recipient of both AGC and ABC safety awards, including the National Safety Excellence Award and Innovation in Safety Award. We are proud of our commitment to constant improvement in our organizational safety measures.
Modern Technology in Construction
Technology continues to evolve and impact our industry, increasing productivity, safety and collaboration on the job.
A few examples of how technology is shaping our industry’s future include:
- The use of drones to survey construction sites and document production, which allows for remote work and improved safety within the construction sites.
- 3D printing, a rising tool in the commercial construction industry, can reduce production time and costs of building components.
- Software and mobile apps, which are used to manage the construction process from start to finish and allow for workers and companies to access and share real-time data collection between project sites and offices.
Adaptive Reuse
Adaptive reuse has become increasingly popular in recent years and shows no sign of slowing down. We have been proud to partner on projects that reuse industrial space, such as the Historic Federal Reserve building. Are you interested in transforming a historic space to fit your unique needs? You can learn more about the process and its benefits here.
We’re always exploring ways to incorporate new technologies and better processes throughout our projects. Want more insights into construction trends? Be sure to follow along with our construction project journeys on our social media profiles: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
